Would you believe me if I told you that my entire married life I haven’t dressed up for Halloween? It’s true. My family does, but I don’t. It’s just not something I’m crazy about doing. But I love supporting them and helping them find the perfect Halloween costume.

This year my daughter really isn’t all that excited about dressing up. I guess that’s what happens as you get older. But she still wants to participate in the festivities so I made her this Halloween crown with sparkly spiders.

I’ll be honest. I don’t like spiders. They really freak me out.

But I’m in love with this Spider Crown. It has just the right amount of spooky with the right amount of sparkle.

And it’s so easy to make, y’all. The hardest part is getting the spiders glued on and spaced out evenly but once that’s done, you’ll pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

If you scroll to the bottom there is a printable tutorial.

You’ll need to make a wire circle the circumference of the person’s head that will be wearing the spider crown. To do this, wrap the wire around their head to get a correct measurement. Before cutting the wire, add on a couple of inches so that the two ends can overlap some.

Now, take the black tape and wrap it around the overlapped ends of the wire to secure it in place.

Before gluing the spiders, measure how many spiders you’ll need to fit around the entire circumference of the crown. I had to use nine for my daughter’s Spider Crown. Thankfully I bought 2 of packages of spiders!

Using the hot glue gun, glue the bottom of the spiders to the wire. If you want, after you’ve glued the spiders on the wire, you can glue their legs together to give the crown a little more strength. If you decide not to go that route, your spider crown will be a bit delicate so you’ll need to handle with care.

Note: If you get to the last spider and find that you haven’t measured accurately, you can easily remove the spiders from the wire. Try to make sure that the spider legs are overlapping, even if just a little.
