It’s summer time, the kids are home from school, and we are keeping busy. I don’t want to waste away our summer by spending an exorbitant amount of time cooking in the kitchen so most days I try to prepare a lunch that’s simple, yet tasty. This Classic BLT is the perfect choice.

The Classic BLT Sandwich has been around for ages and it’s a favorite of mine. The simple, fresh ingredients are perfect for a quick and easy meal. It doesn’t hurt that it isn’t too bad for you either!

With a quick trip to the produce department at your local store, you can get one of these yummy sandwiches put together in no time.

Sandwiches are my go-to when I don’t have much time to prepare an elaborate dish.  By using tools sent to me by Good Cook, I can get my sandwiches made even quicker.  By using the Slice Precise I can get even, thick slices of tomatoes quickly and easily.  The Mini Flexible Cutting Mats are color-coded so that you can designate use between meats, vegetables, poultry and fish.  They are small making them the perfect size when slicing your sandwich ingredients.  And just in case of leftovers, or if you are making the hubby’s lunch, the Sandwich Keeper offers a heavy duty solution to storing your sandwich.  It’s much thicker than ones I use for my children’s sandwiches which allows for more tasty ingredients on your sandwich.

Classic BLT Sandwich

Total Time: 10 minutes

A lovely summer sandwich with crisp green lettuce, thick cut bacon and bright red tomatoes!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices thick cut bacon, cooked
  • 2 thick slices of tomato
  • 1-2 green leaf lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Southwestern Ranch Mayo

Instructions

  • Butter and toast two slices of bread.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon mayo on each slice of toasted bread.
  • Add lettuce to bottom piece of toasted bread, followed by tomato slices and bacon (broken in half if needed). Place other piece of toasted bread on top.
  • Enjoy!

      I think I would probably use either the knife the most or the slicer. I really want to test out that slicer on tomatoes!!

      I love the sandwich knife, just the right size for me. I have arthritis so I could use that and still hold the slicer!

      The cheese slicer for sure. I prefer to buy blocked cheese instead of slices to keep the food budget lower. I can never seem to cut even slices though:( Would love to win this. Sandwiches are a summer staple in our house.
