If you’ve never been on a cruise before, walking into your stateroom for the very first time can be a bit of a shock. With very limited space on the ship, most room is reserved for all the fun activities and dining while cruising, leaving limited room for staterooms. This posts gives you a look inside a Carnival Magic Ocean View Stateroom.
My family was given a complimentary cruise. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’ve cruised in both balcony and ocean view staterooms, and while I prefer the balcony rooms because of the time I can spend outside of the room without actually leaving the room, if you don’t smoke and have smokers close to you, you won’t spend much time out there anyway. Staterooms will obviously vary by ship, so please keep in mind that I’m referencing the stateroom on Carnival Magic.
Carnival Magic Ocean View Stateroom
When you are aboard a Carnival cruise ship, you are assigned a stateroom. We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View stateroom which was enough space for all five of us. The stateroom featured one full bathroom with shower, plus another bathroom with a sink and junior tub. The kids each had their own beds, and my husband and I shared a king-sized bed shown in the picture above.
During a cruise, a room steward that visits your room twice a day to tidy up, change out towels, make beds, etc. At night, when visiting for turn-down service, they also leave towel animals. When we walked into our room on the second night of our cruise, we were greeted with 13 towel animals (some not pictured because they were on the three other twin-sized beds). My children loved walking into our room to see what would be greeting us each night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-day cruise and time spent with our family. It truly is fun for the whole family. There were nine of us in our group, ages six to mid-70’s, and we all had a wonderful time. If you are cruising soon, I’d be happy to help in any way I can. A great place to start is 15 Tips for First-Time Cruisers.
I hope you enjoyed the short tour around our Deluxe Ocean View stateroom aboard Carnival Magic.

I’ve always wondered about a large family on a cruise. Although we would still need 2 rooms but it’s nice to know we could put all the kids in 1 room without having to share. Joys of having 6 kids. lol And I just LOVE how you say toilet.

We have been on 5 cruises before, one of them a Transatlantic one! But we’ve never cruised Carnival. We always had to fly to a port before, but now that we’re within driving distance to Houston and Galveston though, we’re considering trying out a different line, so thanks for sharing!

I’ve been wanting to go on a Carnival cruise so badly! It’s great they do offer a stateroom for a larger family, so preferable to having separate rooms.
