Thanks to our sponsor Crocs for allowing me to day a moms day off!
It’s not often that I get a day off to do whatever I want to do. But a couple Saturdays ago, that is exactly what I did. I took my day off and used it to spend some me time, which meant shopping!
I visited an older part of town adorned with older buildings that show so much character. I love this part of town because it holds so much of the past in those old, brick walls. While many of the stores are current and trendy, there is an eclectic mix of vendors that make for a fun shopping experience. And if you get there early enough, there’s a nice Farmers Market in the square.
But I hardly ever get there early enough, because…well…sleep, y’all. It’s kind of my favorite!
I’ve learned that when I got a day off, I better make the most of it because it will probably be awhile before I get another. So that’s what I did. I shopped to my little heart’s desire.
I didn’t really buy all that much, but it was just being able to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it that was so relaxing and energizing at the same time. I didn’t have to make multiple bathroom stops or tie little shoelaces. I didn’t have to keep a schedule or make sure little bellies were fed. I just did whatever the heck I wanted to do.
Not that I dislike doing any of those things. In fact, I love being a mom. I love having three little people who need me and depend on me. I wouldn’t trade being a mom for all the money in the world. It was just really nice to do something for me without having to worry about anybody else.
I had a great time strolling the streets of downtown window shopping, trying on clothes I wouldn’t normally try on, and just enjoying my day off.
But at the end of the day, I wanted nothing more to head back home to my babies and spend the evening with them. I love my children. I love my life. I can’t imagine a life any different. It’s mine and it’s perfect for me.
A special thanks to Crocs for supplying me with the shoes I needed for my moms day off.

I would be going my favorite thrift stores and craft store, and browse around and see if there’s something I really want for myself. Next stop would be the beach with my book and wait unit the sun sets. It would be a very relaxing day for me. A happy day.

If I were ever fortunate enough to have a mom’s day off, I’d spend it reading. I love to read, but I never have the time for it anymore.
MELISASource says
I know it’s a total cliche, but if I had a mom’s day off I’d spend it reading, taking a nice, long bath, and maybe watching a movie.

Sleep in, enjoy my favorite breakfast with my family, get a much-needed haircut and brunch in Soho and then have a grill out in our backyard for dinner!

I would love a day off to spend some time shopping, catching up with my non-mom friends and possibly treating myself to a pedicure. And a nice meal where I don’t have to worry about whether or not my kids will actually eat what’s being served!

You are right, when you have the day off, take it! It is so hard to get. I’m completely admiring your summer clothes. I’m still in winter-wear with a chilly week of rain and snow promised ahead.
Shauna says
Oh my goodness, what I wouldn’t give for a Mom’s day off. Like you, I love being a mom, love my kids, but every now-and-then a day off would be great. I would love to go downtown and just walk around for a bit. Thanks for sharing your day off with us.
Angelica says
Would love to spend the day with my sister and mom! We would go to brunch, do some shopping then catch a movie! We rarely have time to see eachother due to our busy schedules, so this day would be all about us!
Amber Edwards says
Goodness, I don’t know where I would start with a mom’s day off! A SPA trip for sure! I’d totally get that massage I really need after battling morning sickness 24/7 for 9 months straight, and tact on an additional 7 months of lack of sleep because baby doesn’t think sleep is important. lol. And maybe a lunch out with the girls. I’d need my sister to have a mom’s day off too and we’d go hit the mall or go see a movie!
Christie says
I’m glad that you took some time off to recharge your mom batteries! And in comfortable shoes, love Crocs!
Monica says
You look beautiful! And moms absolutely do need time off to recharge and be better for ourselves and the ones that we love.
Amy Desrosiers says
I too have a pair of Crocs sandals that are the coziest ever! They are black and go with pretty much everything!

I would spend my day at a spa for sure! It certainly helps me to relieve the stress from work and takes my mind off.
