I’m proud to partner with CVS/pharmacy for the #FindYourHealthy campaign. I am being sponsored by CVS/pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
With the cooler temperatures finally making their way across the country, I wanted to make a Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit for my son’s teachers. In keeping true to the one small change program I’m doing with CVS/pharmacy, I thought a Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit would make a perfect addition.
You could definitely make a Winter Survival Kit for anyone, but since teachers are often subjected to the germs of 20+ students each day, I figured I would start there. Plus, I really just like my son’s teachers!
Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit
What You’ll Need:
- a 24 oz Ball Mason Jar
- crinkle cut paper strips
- cough suppressants
- facial tissue
- hand lotion
- lip balm/moisturizer
- all day pain relief
- AirShield (immune system support)
- hand sanitizer
- raffia, twine, yarn or thick string
- Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit printable
- washi tape, double sided tape, some kind of adhesive
How to Assemble:
- Add a layer of crinkle cut paper strips to the bottom of the mason jar. Begin adding products to the inside of the jar. If you’re good at Tetris you’ll have no problem with this. It took me a few tries but I was able to squeeze everything inside of the mason jar. Just remember when you’re purchasing the products for the jar, the smaller-sized version will probably work better!
- Top the jar with its lid and tie whatever type of string you have on hand around the top. Print out the Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit tag, cut it out, and use whatever adhesive you have and stick it to the front of the mason jar.
Voila! Now you have a cute AND useful gift for your child’s teacher!
And it doesn’t cost much at all to make, especially if you have some old mason jars laying around the house.
I really like surprising the boy’s teachers and this Teacher’s Winter Survival Kit is one of the more useful surprises I’ve made.
My family and I are on a journey for a healthier lifestyle. We’re slowing down when we can and simply enjoying life, we’re getting active with our children outside, and we’re holding ourselves accountable to drink more water using this printable water intake tracker. It only seemed right to try to help others around also do what they can for a healthier lifestyle.
Everyone’s reasons and ways to #FindYourHealthy are different. But one thing is true for all of us, we’re worth it!
What are you doing to #FindYourHealthy?

This is a sweet idea – good point about the teachers being probably the most receptive to getting sick being around germs more often than most jobs! I am constantly washing my hands and of course have hand sanitizer in my purse and car!
