Do your kids love Mickey Mouse? Then they’re sure to love these Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops!

The kids don’t know it yet, but we’re going to Disney World!

We had planned on taking them in November, but when I received a coveted invite for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration in May, we decided to bite the bullet and go earlier!

Since I don’t have as much time to plan as I would have liked, I’m in overdrive trying to get all our Disney reservations and Fast Passes squared away.

I’m also giving the children little hints without them even knowing it. These Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops are a perfect example. I had these cute little pops waiting for them one day after school as a snack. They absolutely loved them, but they still have no clue that in less than a month we’ll be boarding a plane for Orlando.

I think I may be a little too excited, y’all!

These Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops only require a few ingredients. They do take some time and effort, but the end result is totally worth it.

Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops

Name: Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops

Ingredients: 12 Double Stuff Oreos; 24 Mini Oreos; 1 bag chocolate (dark cocoa) candy melts; 1 bag red candy melts; tube of sparkling white decorating gel; Lollipop sticks

Begin by carefully separating all of the Oreos. You can use an icing spreader to make this an easier task. Insert the icing spreader into the middle of cookie directly under one of the wafers and carefully loosen the wafer from the cream filling so that you can separate them.

**You'll only need 24 mini Oreos pieces, but using 24 will give you 48. So that there isn't any waste, you can make double stuff mini oreos with the remaining pieces. If you would prefer, you could just use 12 and throw away the cream filling. It's up to you.**

Using a lollipop stick, remove some of the cream filling where you want the lollipop stick to lay so that it is flush inside of the filling. This will allow you to put the other cookie on top and keep the desired thickness of the Oreo.

Melt the red candy melts in the microwave according to the directions on the package. Dip the cream lined cookie piece in the red candy melt about halfway. You can use the writing on the cookies as a guide. Put on wax paper or parchment paper. Place the lollipop stick in the space you cleared out with the lollipop stick earlier. Dip the other half of the cookie in the red candy melts halfway and carefully place on the other half of the cookie you placed on the wax or parchment paper. You can place in the refrigerator to quicken the hardening process or just leave out on the counter. (See notes for alternate method.)

Once the red candy melt has hardened, melt the brown candy melts according to the directions on the package. Using a lollipop stick and the melted brown candy melts, attach the mini Oreos to the top of the larger Oreo cookies to make Mickey's ears. Dip the stick into the candy melts and use it as a glue for the ears. Return to wax or parchment paper and allow to harden.

Once all the ears are set, melt chocolate candy melts again, if needed. If you want, you can also thin it out by adding a little bit of vegetable oil to make it easier to work with. Dip Mickey's ears down into the chocolate candy melts until you meet the red. Gently tap on the side of the dish to remove any of the extra candy. Return to wax or parchment paper to harden.

Once hardened, use whatever you have on hand to make the white buttons on his suspenders. I used some I had on hand. These white nonpareils would work too.

Notes

An alternate way is this:

Return the top cookie and firmly press back together. Dip the whole cookie in the red candy melt about halfway. You can use the writing on the cookies as a guide. Put on wax paper or parchment paper. Insert the lollipop stick in the space you cleared out with the lollipop stick earlier. You can place in the refrigerator to quicken the hardening process or just leave out on the counter.
Follow the remaining steps as listed in the directions.

Aren’t these Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops super cute? I love the way these turned out. I originally saw a photo of them on Pinterest which didn’t lead anywhere, and then saw a video on YouTube where I got my inspiration. I did things just a bit different than she did, using the Mini Oreo’s rather than the chocolate wafers.

These do take a bit of effort and patience, but the end result is the most adorable, edible Mickey Mouse you’ve ever seen. My kids were absolutely smitten by them.

Oreo pops that look like Mickey? I think that would go over HUGE at my house. These are great for any Disney lover (and sweets lover).

These pops are adorable and would make amazing party favors as well. We surprised our children with a trip to Disneyland and they did not know about it until just hours before we left. It was an epic parenting moment!
