With the Super Bowl right around the corner, football fans everywhere are getting ready for the big game. Whether it’s buying a brand new flatscreen television, planning the game day menu or looking forward to the commercials, there is something for everyone on game day.
I’ll be honest and admit that I’m not really a fan of football. When I watch the Super Bowl, it’s because I want to see all the commercials. I love seeing how all these brands come up with these neat marketing ideas and some of the commercials totally deserve some type of award.
This year you get to get a sneak peek at Coca-Cola’s Super Bowl commercial and also have the opportunity to help determine the ending. The commercial will air in two parts and features three groups all racing to get to the giant refreshing bottle of Coca-Cola. As a band of cowboys on horses, a badlands gang on motorcycles, and Vegas-style showgirls driving a pink bus all race for the finish, they try to sabotage either other in some pretty hilarious ways.
After you watch the first part of the video on CokeChase.com, you will then have the opportunity to vote for the group you want to win. If you are curious who I voted for, I had to give my vote to the girls. You know, girl power and all!
But not only do you get to vote for who you want to win, you also get to sabotage the other groups. The votes and sabotages will all be tallied and the winner will be announced on game day.
You can show your online support for the group you are voting for by using their supporting hashtags; #CokeShowgirls, #CokeCowboys or #CokeBadlanders. Coca-Cola will reveal the winner of the Coke Chase based on fan participation via a 30-second commercial that completes the journey. All three endings will be cued and ready for broadcast while Coke representatives tabulate votes and deduct points for sabotages. When the winning team is determined, Coca-Cola will work with the network to air the spot that earned the most fan support.
Coca-Cola’s online social presence will play a major role in delivering real-time updates. Make sure you are following them on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
