Having a home office, a good printer is a necessity. Having an efficient home office, a quality, all-in-one printer is a necessity. Thankfully, I’m now working from an efficient home office thanks to the Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One Printer.
Before getting this new Epson printer, I had a printer in my office but no matter how hard I tried or how many times I tried, I could not get the wireless capabilities to work with my MacBook Pro. Although I should have been able to print wirelessly, because I couldn’t get it to work, I would have to get up from what I was doing and connect the laptop to the printer to print, every single time I needed to print something. I’m not sure about you, but that doesn’t seem like a very efficient use of my time.
When the Epson printer arrived, my husband helped me get it out of the box and setup in the office. The setup instructions are easy to follow and took us about an hour to complete. I made sure to read all of the instructions because by golly, I wanted to be able to use the wireless printing feature. With a little patience, I can now print wirelessly and I’m enjoying every single second of it.
The printer is Wi-Fi Certified and allows you to print, scan and access memory card slots from any room in your house. With EPSON connect, you can also print easily from anywhere with your iPad, iPhone, tablet, smartphone and more.
The simple space-saving, small-in-one design is compact and stylish giving you big performance from a small machine.
Print Photos from Home
This printer is ideal for families and those who would like to print their own photos from home. You can print a 4″ x 6″ photo in as little as 10 seconds. Because the printer uses Claria Photo HD six-color inks, pictures come out with true-to-life skin tones and smooth lines. I used the printer to fill a few empty frames I had sitting around the house and I was impressed with the impeccable print quality. You can also print the same photo or multiple photos on a single sheet of paper using the photo templates.
Whether I’m printing out an invoice or printing a priceless photo of my children, this Epson printer hasn’t failed me yet. The Advanced MicroPiezo Printing Technology ensures sharp and accurate ink placement. The “smart” nozzles deliver droplets in as many as five different sizes, ensuring a sharper image quality. The MicroPiezo Technology used in this printer is the same technology you can find in wide format printers used by professional photographers.
With all the different printing options, printing special projects should no longer be a problem. With two paper trays plus a rear paper feed, you can print on specialty media such as card stock, envelopes and CD/DVD’s. The XP-850 also offers easy two-sided printing, copying and scanning.
The adjustable 3.5″ touchscreen helps you navigate your way around setup and operation. After several minutes of inactivity, the screen goes dark to save energy.
Automatic Document Feeder
The convenient six individual ink cartridges allows you to only replace the color needed therefore not wasting any ink. You can purchase the black and color ink cartridges in either standard or high-capacity (XL). The high-capacity cartridges deliver up to 50% more prints. The standard ink cartridges retail for around $10.99 while the high-capacity ink cartridges retail for around $16.99.
I’m seriously impressed with this printer. It features so many bells and whistles and has proven itself to me photo after photo. I bought a 13 photo frame the other day and just couldn’t wait to fill it with pictures. One photo after the other and my frame is finally filled with stunning photos of my family.
I could sit here and type all kinds of technical jargon about the printer but if you are like me, all those numbers and specifications don’t mean a thing. When it comes down to it, I just want to know how the printer performs. I’m thrilled to have the Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One Printer in my home office and I’m looking forward to printing more photos at home, having the capability to print without having to plug up my laptop to the printer, and being more efficient with my time while working.
Since I try to find the good and bad in all the products I review, I’ll be honest and say that I think the price tag for this printer is a little on the steep side. It’s been a few years since I’ve purchased a printer, but I don’t remember ever paying more than about $125 for a printer. But like I mentioned earlier, this printer has many bells and whistles that I’ve never had before. Are those bells and whistles worth the higher price tag? Well, that’s up to you!
You can purchase the Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One Printer for the suggested retail price of $299.99!
