U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance #FoodD Twitter Party

If you are anything like me, you want to eat healthy and make smart food choices, but with the ever changing rules and guidelines for what is considered healthy, you don’t know if you’re actually eating healthy options or not.  I know that there are many brands who take part in using deceptive terms and labels on their products, so if you are simply making your purchases based on the packaging (I’m to blame for this as well), chances are that you may not actually be eating as healthy as you think you are.

The U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance wants to help us all learn more about food choices and where the food comes from. We will be having a Twitter Party to learn about key food terms to help navigate our way to healthy options, whether dining out or grocery shopping!

Some of the topics that will be discussed during this hour long Twitter Party will be commonly used and little-understood food terms – for example, what does “local” really mean, and what’s the difference between organic and non-organic? Hormone-free, sustainable, naturally raised.  I’m sure you’ve seen these terms that are appearing on store shelves and restaurant menus.  But, what does it all really mean?
